Professor Liaw’s major research interests range from new polymerizations and reaction mechanisms to polymers with complex architecture, liquid-crystalline polymers and supramolecular chemistry.
Scope of Thesis Topics:
- Glass-Forming Thermotropic Low Molar Liquid Crystals (LMMLC3) and Side-Chain Liquid Crystalline Polymers (SCLCPs): Molecular Design, Synthesis, Characterizations, and Electro-Optic Applications.
- Novel Ferro- and Antiferro Side-Chain Liquid Crystalline Polymers Obtained by Ring-Opening Polymerization.
- Synthesis and Electro-Chemical Properties of Conjugated Polymers with Liquid Crystalline Substituents
