Invitation to the SAKURA Exchange Program in Science 2019

Dear Friends in Taiwan,

After the great success of the SAKURA Exchange Program in Science during the summer in 2017 and 2018, we will continue this program for 2019.

I would like to invite the students in TaiwanTech, YunTech and NCKU to this program for this year.

The aims of this program are to carry out the research by your students to promote the collaboration between JAIST and Taiwan Universities, and to make long-term and intimate relationship among the students and faculties who participate to this program from JAIST and three Taiwan universities.

Program period: July 22–30, 2019 (9 days)

Place: Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Nomi,  Ishikawa,  Japan

Support provided by the program: Travel expenses (international round flight tickets), daily fee and accommodation.

Total number of students: 9 students (the number of student may vary for each university, see below for the selection procedure)

In brief, we send you the list of the labs with the number of the students that can be accepted by each lab. We would like to receive "Research Proposal" from the students together with the results of English language proficiency tests (TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS). Then, we will ask the professors in JAIST to see whether the proposals can be suitable and/or doable in their labs. Finally, we will inform you the results of the selection.

Important Notice:

 Since we are not how many proposals can be matched to the counter parts in JAIST, we will not set the maximum number for proposals from each university.

   We will take into account not only the matching of the research but  also English communication skill of the applicants.
